Last week I had the great pleasure of performing in the Hercules Hall of the Munich Residence. There, the Munich Symphony Orchestra premiered Andreas Begehrt's "Bavarian Symphony"—and I was privileged to play the incredibly exciting percussion solo. The unusual instruments, such as beer steins, a beer barrel, cowbells, and milk cans, lent the work a unique aesthetic. This concert was a special moment for me because it combined tradition and the unconventional in such a charming way.
On that occasion, a great article about my week before the concert appeared in the Süddeutsche Zeitung; here's a short excerpt:
Offstage, I made time for other sources of inspiration. Culinary-wise, I enjoyed modern Levantine cuisine, which delighted me with its fresh aromas and spices. Musically, I explored avant-garde pop by female musicians whose creativity and courage gave me new impetus.
To find balance, I finally ventured out into nature. A hiking trip to a lake gave me peace, grounding, and renewed energy – a wonderful contrast to the intense daily life of a musician.

Who would have thought that an everyday cleaning utensil could have so much entertainment potential?
The year 2022 ended with a very special appearance: Seventeen years after my colleagues and I became "Betting Champions" on Thomas Gottschalk's show with our Beatles-themed broom challenge, we were able to dust off our brooms once again and provide top-notch entertainment on the ARD program "2022 Das Quiz" on December 30th. Guests Barbara Schöneberger, Günther Jauch, Jan Josef Liefers, and Florian Silbereisen had to guess various songs based on the sounds we made while sweeping. These included songs like Udo Jürgens' "Ich war noch niemals in New York" (I've Never Been to New York) and the rock classic "Smoke on the Water." Of course, the summer hit "Layla" was also featured…

Uraufführung meines Werkes "Lumen für Marimba" in einem Arrangement mit Chor und Orchester.
Es war ein wirklich magischer Moment: Unter dem Motto "Carmina Burana meets Power Percussion unplugged" wurde mit dem Chor und dem Orchester der Bayerischen Philharmonie mein Werk "Lumen für Marimba" in der Münchner Philharmonie uraufgeführt.
It was a pleasure for me, as a marimba soloist, to immerse myself in the sound of this classical ensemble. Above all, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing how my composition touched and inspired the audience. For me personally, it was the absolute highlight of this extraordinary concert evening.
